City Hall ... Again

The front of the Municipal Building provides endless opportunities for photographs. Wide shots, closeup shots, pictures of pieces of things. Just for variety, I should actually fo into the building some day.

Angles

Even the most mundane structure can look interesting. If you are a local, do you recognize this?

Lonely In The Snow

This is a leftover shot from a few weeks ago. I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone sit on this bench, but it looks especially empty in the snow.

A Friendly Business

There are many friendly businesses in Middletown Valley. I especially like this one.

Another Brick Pattern

If you've been following this blog for awhile, you know I like pattern photos. This is on the side of Snallygaster.

The Pink House

Another view looking across the same field in the previous post, this time a little northwest.

Just North of Town

I have photographed this field many times, but each time it looks completely different. It is situated at the edge of town, just north of Green Street.

Skywatch Friday: Full Moon

Today is Friday the 13th ... seems like a good day for a picture of a full moon. I took this last Sunday night.

I'm getting a little better at these moon shots, but I still have much to learn.

Odd Beauty

I think just about any image has the potential to be visually interesting, even something as mundane as electric power poles casting shadows on a warehouse wall.

Great Weather and Dogs 1

A week or two ago we had snow and single-digit temperatures. This week it's sunny and 60 degrees Fahrenheit. So my wife and I took our dogs out to play in Middletown park.

This dog will do almost anything for a tennis ball.

Waiting For Spring

This chair on the porch in front of Snallygaster is very inviting, isn't it? It was 35 degrees the day I shot this but looking at this chair makes it feel like 75 or 80.

Future MVP?

Maybe a future Super Bowl MVP will start on this field. Maybe one already has and I just don't know it.

School Activity Schedule

I don't think my elementary school had all of these fun activities.

Another Path

Yesterday I posted my 'official' Theme Day photograph, but here is the first of two others I considered. This is the one I originally planned to use as my theme day shot.

Theme Day: Paths and Passages

This month's theme could mean many things, opening the door (so to speak) to many photographic opportunities and interpretaitons. The first thing I planned to photograph was a narrow passage between two buildings on Main Street which I have seen many times. As I was walking around looking for it, I also saw an intesting gate into a stone patio. I'll post both of those later this week.

I found THIS passage quite by accident.

The monochromatic coloring and tight cropping add mystery to the image. Is this a secret passage to a private society? Perhaps the doorway leads to a dark, dangerous dungeon hiding dead bodies. Maybe it's just the side door to a local restaurant. Look for it some day, if you dare.
