Spring Dog

This is one of my dogs in my garden. She looks so sweet and inocent in this picture, doesn't she? I know better.

Bridge and Spider Web

This is one of many spider webs on the bridge in yesterday's post.

Bridge and Shadows

I missed the last 'theme day' on May 1st; the theme was shadows. I took this pictures a couple of days ago, so I'll post this now as my own theme day.

Memorial 2

Here are two more photographs of the Middletown War Memorial.

Have a safe Memorial Day.

Memorial 1

This War Memorial is in the heart of town, on MD 17 just south of US Alt 40. Tomorrow is Memorial Day, so it seemed like a good idea to shoot a few photos of this tribute to those who gave all in the service of our country.

Also, today is the 1st anniversary of this web site and this was one of the first landmarks I photographed in Middletown.

Golf in the Valley

It's hard to tell from this picture, but these guys really are on a golf course.

Skywatch Friday: Air Show

OK, so this scene is not actually in Middletown; it's about 50 or 60 miles away. I took this picture at the Joint Services Open House Air Show at Andrews Air Force Base last weekend. Visit my other photo site to see more.

Peaceful

The human residents of Middletown Valley are as active and busy as those in any suburban or exurban area, but the cows are always relaxing.

Skywatch Friday: Blue Sky and Flag Pole

Aren't those clouds beautiful? One day soon, an American flag will be flying from this pole.

Look A Little Closer

My original mission for this site was to show elements of Middletown Valley that you often miss if you drive through instead of walk through.

I have walked around this park and lake a hundred times, yet there is an object in this picture I hadn't noticed till the day I took this picture (last Sunday) ... that plaque.

A closer view ...

Those Fountains

This is one of two fountains in the lake in Middletown Park. They were off during the winter, but they are back on for spring.

Spring at the Lake

Flowers and trees are blooming around Middletown Park. Yesterday, Mother's Day, was a great day for a mother and son visit to the lake.

Tree Down

We wanted this tree down, but it was just a little too big for my chainsaw, and a little too close to the house. So we paid a professional to do it. This is what is left. I cut up the smaller branches and limbs into firewood. Some of these bigger sections will become chairs.

Red Spring

There is plenty of red in my yard each spring.

Middletown From A Distance

The ever-present water tower can be seen from miles away - in this case, four or five miles away.

Snakes

This small snake is in my back yard. It is a very smart snake because it remained so motionless that my dogs didn't notice it.
