Peaceful Rest

It seems like small towns have more cemeteries than large cities. There are several in Middletown.

Each time I drive or walk past this particular cemetery, it looks different. The photographic possibilities are endless. But I am always respectful when I shoot pictures there.

Cemeteries are the best for shooting interesting pictures. D.C. has several large cemeteries that are quite photogenic--Rock Creek, Congressional, and Oakhill are three of my favorites. There's a large one over near the National Arboretum I have yet to photograph, as well as one near Catholic University that interests me. One of these days I'll get over there.

If you want to see freaky cool cemeteries, visit the ones outside New York City. I don't think there's an inch of greenspace in them!

Great picture, Bernie.

Thanks, Jan.

For as long as I've lived around here, I've never seen those cemeteries. I haven't even been to Arlington yet.

Another great spot for unique cemeteries: New Orleans. I grew up there and have been to way too many cemeteries there (but sadly, never with a camera).
